Open Water Swimming?
Open water swimming is a popular sport that has grown in popularity in recent years. Unlike swimming in a pool, open water swimming is done in natural waters such as lakes, rivers or the ocean.
This type of swimming offers a variety of benefits, including a greater challenge for the swimmer and a greater opportunity to experience and enjoy the outdoors. Open water swimming offers a great way to challenge yourself physically and mentally while enjoying the beauty of nature. Whether you are an experienced swimmer or a beginner, there are many ways to try and enjoy this sport.

By registering for the Sea Swimming Competition in the waters of the Thousand Islands, Indonesia, all participants agree to the following terms and conditions:
What is the registration process for SALT Extreme participants?
Participants can register via our official website at saltextreme.id by following these steps:
- Complete the online registration form with accurate and full details.
- Upload the required documents (valid ID, medical certificate, and parental consent letter if applicable).
- Make the registration payment.
- Upon successful payment confirmation, a QR Code will be sent to the registered email address as a confirmation of participation.
What should I do after receiving the QR Code?
The QR Code sent to your email & your account area. must be presented for on-site check-in on race day and for race pack collection.
Please keep your QR Code secure and do not share it with others.
What should I prepare for the competition?
All participants must be in good physical and mental health.
On race day, you must bring the following:
- Original valid ID (KTP/KIA for Indonesian citizens, Passport/KITAS for international participants)
- Medical certificate issued by a recognized hospital or clinic
- Parental consent letter (for participants under 17 years old)
- Active emergency contact number that can be reached during the event
How do I get to the competition location?
All participants are required to gather at Dermaga Marina, on August 3, 2025.
From the pier, speed boat transportation will be provided by the committee for a group transfer to the competition site in the Thousand Islands.
Round-trip boat transfer is included as part of your registration benefits.
Are storage or accommodation services available?
Currently, the organizing committee does not provide luggage storage.
Participants are encouraged to make their own arrangements and bring only essential items.
When and where can I collect my race pack?
Race packs can be collected at the following times and locations:
- One day before the event at Millennium Aquatic, Jakarta
What facilities are included for participants?
Each participant will receive:
- An official SALT race pack (Official race jersey, swim cap)
- Round-trip speed boat ticket to the competition venue (valid only for the registered participant)
- Exclusive access to the race area and professional event documentation
Can I cancel my registration or transfer it to someone else?
Please note:
- Cancellations are not allowed after registration is confirmed.
- No name changes or participant transfers will be accepted under any circumstances. We strongly advise all participants to ensure their availability and complete documentation before registering.
Who is eligible to join the competition?
This competition is open to national and international swimmers of all age categories who possess advanced swimming skills and are in excellent physical and mental health.
What race categories are available?
SALT Extreme offers two race distance categories:
- 750 meters - Kids Challenge
- 1,500 meters – Intermediate Challenge
- 5,000 meters – Endurance Challenge
