SALT Extreme Competition – Terms & Conditions

1. General Provisions
SALT is a high-risk, competitive open water swimming event held in the Thousand Islands, Indonesia.
By registering, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and fully agreed to these terms and conditions voluntarily and without coercion.
The organizing committee reserves the right to verify all participant data and documents. Participants found to have submitted false information may be disqualified.

2. Participant Responsibility
Each participant is fully responsible for their personal decision to join the competition.
All participants are required to sign a Waiver and Liability Agreement, acknowledging the risks involved in participating in a high-risk event.
The organizer shall not be held liable for:

  • Personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings
  • Health issues due to pre-existing medical conditions
  • Delays or failure to attend due to personal transportation issues

Participants must follow all instructions from the event staff and adhere to the established safety protocols at all times.

3. Conduct & Compliance
Participants must uphold sportsmanship and refrain from any actions that may endanger themselves, other participants, staff, or the environment.
The use of swimming aids (unless medically approved), illegal substances, or hazardous equipment is strictly prohibited.
The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

  • Violates competition rules
  • Acts in an unsportsmanlike manner
  • Disrupts the event
  • Refuses inspection of equipment or documentation

All decisions made by the organizer are final and non-negotiable.

4. Emergency Situations & Force Majeure
The organizer reserves the right to postpone, modify, or cancel the event in the event of:

  • Extreme weather or natural disasters
  • Dangerous sea conditions
  • National emergencies or government regulations

In such cases, the organizer is not obligated to refund registration fees.
Efforts will be made to promptly inform participants of any changes through official communication channels.

5. Documentation & Copyright
By participating in this event, participants grant the organizer full rights to use any photos, videos, or other media captured during the event for documentation, promotional, and publication purposes without compensation.
All documentation created during the event is the property of the organizer.

6. Privacy & Data Usage
Participants’ personal data will be used solely for administrative purposes related to the SALT competition.
The organizer is committed to protecting participants’ personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws in Indonesia.

7. Miscellaneous
By completing the registration process, all participants are deemed to have accepted all terms and conditions.
Additional technical matters not stated in this document will be addressed during the official technical briefing or through announcements made by the organizing committee prior to the event day.
